Life can be so unpredictable that we can often be surprised by how we feel, think, and behave when we have a worry, challenge or problem that can prevent us from being who we truly are.
Having someone to talk to, outside of family and friends and in a therapeutic, confidential environment can be a place to explore those thoughts, reactions, and feelings.
Hello, my name is Rosa Trout, I am a psychotherapist in Advanced training. My professional background is in education and family support, and I have worked with families for over 20 years.
I have always been interested in how we are all influenced by the people in our lives, our home, and by our emotional and socio-economical experiences growing up and how adversity can be overcome.
I am aware of the many intersections that we hold and believe that mutually respected relationships are very important to ensure we are seen, heard, and understood.
I am a registered member of UKCP, NCIP, UKATA and EATA as an Advanced Practitioner Trainee and I have a Master’s degree which I achieved in 2011.
I have regular supervision and continue to attend professional development courses to further increase my understanding and skills of psychotherapy and counselling.
It’s important to me that as client and therapist, we can communicate and connect,
so that you are able to share your thoughts, feelings and hopes, in order for the therapy to be successful.
Knowing the difference listening makes, I hope to create a space, where you feel safe and comfortable.
I will be empathetic and ensure we are working towards the goals that you want to achieve.
This is accomplished through contracting, along with regular reviews and reflections.
It is important to me as a therapist that you feel able to communicate with me and can commit to regular weekly sessions to establish a connection.
People come to me for help with a wide range of challenges. Here are a few of the most common difficulties that can be supported through therapy.
Abuse
Anxiety
Anger Management
Depression
Difficulties at Work or in Retirement
Feelings of Stress and Anxiety
Grief, Loss, or Bereavement
Panic Attacks
Problems with Confidence or Self-esteem
Relationship Problems
Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress
Well-being and self-care are integral for us to live in our ever fast paced world, and sometimes being reminded of this can make a huge difference!
I am a relational therapist and I practice in Transactional Analysis with an integrated therapeutic approach from a counselling suite in Winton.
My background has equipped me to understand the importance of relationships and how they shape our emotional wellbeing from birth and into adulthood.
Transactional Analysis by Eric Berne, appealed to me because of the theoretical concepts of 3 ego states which he believed are developed in our earliest formative years. These can help make sense of why we have certain thoughts, reactions and behaviours based on the Parent, Adult, and Child ego state.
Berne defined an ego state as ‘a consistent pattern of feeling and experience directly related to a corresponding consistent pattern of behaviour'.
Most of all, I offer an empathetic, confidential, and non- judgemental way of listening, paying attention and offering encouragement and support to clients.
I have strong values for honesty, integrity and fairness and I will encompass these in my counselling and psychotherapy service. I abide to the ethical frameworks of UKCP to ensure my practice provides a safe and confidential service. This includes registering and complying with GDPR guidelines.
I am a therapist based in Bournemouth, and I offer in person counselling sessions from my practice in Winton and I will soon be offering sessions in Poole.
I also offer telephone and on-line therapy.
Please complete the 'Get in Touch Form' and I will arrange a call at a mutually convenient time for a brief assessment/information exchange. This call usually lasts 15 minutes (at no cost) to ensure I can provide the right service for you.
Sessions will last 50 minutes and take place weekly on a regular day of the week and at the same time. Each session costs £45 and payment can be made by bank transfer or cash before the session and no later than the day of the session. Therapy sessions can be short term for a period of 12 weeks or long term with regular reviews.
It is important that you can connect with me for the therapeutic relationship to be successful.
Sometimes, there may be occasion when you may need to cancel, however if less than a weeks’ notice is given then the full session fee will be expected to be paid to honour our contract.
Sessions will not take place on Bank Holidays.
Further details are found on the contract form.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also text me on 07496 619 889 or if you would prefer to leave a voice message. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Rosa
