Therapy can offer a clam space to pause, make sense of what you're experiencing, and begin to feel more grounded again.
Having someone to talk to, outside of family and friends in a therapeutic space can be a sacred place to explore thoughts, feelings, and actions.
I offer a confidential , one-to-one psychotherapy in a supportive environment where you can talk at your own pace, without pressure or judgement.

Hello, my name is Rosa Trout, welcome to my website and I hope you find what you need!
As I look back I have had an amazing journey to be where I am today and yet I am still on a journey and I hope you'll be part of that journey too!
I achieved my Master's degree in my 40's and during lock down I decided to study to become a psychotherapist. As I endeavour to reach the 450 clinical hours needed, I am so chuffed to offer in-person therapy at 2 locations across Bournemouth and Poole as well as on-line.
I feel with my professional background in education, children's services and family support, and the leadership positions that I have held, I have a broad range of skills and knowledge to understand life's challenges and how they impact our wellbeing.
Training with TA East in London has encouraged me to self reflect at the intersectionality of my own life as well as the community I engage with, which has also helped provide a vital lens when working with clients.
As a daughter of two immigrants, I have always been interested in how we are all influenced by the people in our lives, our home, and community growing up and how adversity can be exhausting even if it's overcome!

Psychotherapy works best when we work together to create a space that feels safe and respectful,
allowing you to share your thoughts, feelings, and hopes openly and without judgement.
Therefore, it’s important to me that as client and therapist, we can communicate and connect.
An initial call is offered to explore your reasons for seeking therapy
and this gives me an opportunity to answer any questions you may have too.
Once we agree to start sessions, a date and time is agreed and regular reviews and reflections will take place.
Psychotherapy informed by Transactional Analysis explores how early relationships and life experiences shape the ways we relate to ourselves and others today.
Alongside this, an intersectional lens recognises that our experiences are also influenced by social context, power, culture, identity, and systems of inequality and privilege.
Together, we co-create a therapeutic space that is respectful, curious, and compassionate - one that acknowledges both your personal history and the wider world you live in.
Therapy is a collaborative process, supporting greater awareness, choice, and meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
There is a wide range of reasons why we may seek therapy, and the list on the right are examples that can be supported through therapy.
This list is not exhaustive and I am particularly interested in supporting parents with the joys and demands of parenting from first babies to empty nesters and all the transitions in between.
Therapy is not about being told what to do.
It's a space where we can gently explore what's going on for you, at your own pace.
Some sessions may focus on making sense of current challenges. Others may involve understanding longer-standing patterns, relationships, or experiences that continue to affect how you feel in day -to-day life.
My approach is relational, grounded, and collaborative with an intersectional lens. I practice in Transactional Analysis with an integrated therapeutic approach.
Transactional Analysis (TA) by Eric Berne, appealed to me because he wanted to help people help themselves by developing a shared language between therapist and client. His theoretical concept of Parent, Adult, Child as 3 ego states or systems, can help us make sense of why we may have certain thoughts, feelings and behaviours in particular situation.
However, in TA there is also an underlying belief that 'I'm OK, You're Ok' acknowledges the true self that is found in each of us.
Most of all, I offer an empathetic, confidential, and non- judgemental way of listening, paying attention and offering encouragement and possible insight to clients. I may offer psychoeducation if it is helpful.
I have strong values for honesty, integrity and fairness and I will encompass these in my counselling and psychotherapy service.
I abide to the ethical frameworks of UKCP to ensure my practice provides a safe and confidential service. For this reason, testimonials are forbidden to be used to ensure no breaches could identify a client, past or present.
I am also registered with ICO and comply with GDPR guidelines. I also have PLI and hold an Enhanced DBS.
I have a therapy room at Sandbanks Clinic , 45 Commercial Road, Poole.
The therapy room in Winton, Jameson Road, Bournemouth is accessed by stairs.
On-line service is available too.
Below you'll find information about sessions fees and how therapy is structured.
